Greetings to you in the
sweet name of Our Lord and
Saviour Jesus Christ.
My name is Inder Mulchandani.
I belong to a traditional
Hindu family. I would like
to share with you my real
life story (personal
testimony) as to how God
healed our daughter from a
terminal illness and changed
our lives by introducing us
to our saviour, Jesus Christ. I want
you to know that I did not
convert my religion but I
have found the true God. My
testimony goes like this:
In 1996, I met
Anjali, a catholic girl on
the reception counter of one
of my customer's office in
Dubai. After several visits,
we became friends which
became later an emotional
affair which concluded in
our marriage in in
1998. To us a beautiful
daughter was born in 2001;
we gave her the name Janvi.
After around 10 months of
her birth, we noticed some
swelling in her eyes, which
grew so much as if eyes
would fall out. We took her
to a hospital from where we
were referred to a bigger
hospital in Sharjah. Doctors
did all kinds of tests
including ultrasound and
blood test and finally gave
us the shock of our lives.
Janvi was diagnosed with
blood cancer.
We
questioned the doctor how
could this happen in such a
small age of 10 months.
Doctor said that it was a
natural thing and could
happen to anyone at any age.
He promised to do his best
yet he asked us to trust in
God because he knew that
death and life had equal
chance in Janvi's case at
this stage. It was a
terrible situation and we
did not know how to handle
this.
I had been living a casual
life till now and this
incident shattered us. I
almost became an alcoholic
and a chain smoker. I
still would continue to go
in disco etc to separate
myself from the agony I was
going through. Doctors after
some time suggested to
transfer our child to Tawam
Hospital in Al Ain. My wife
and me faced tough times and
then I started going to
temple, doing religious
things in hope of some
miracle to save our child
but nothing happened.
Instead, Janvi's condition
kept getting worse and there
was no peace in our lives.
Looking at our state of mind
and the circumstances we
were going through,
one sister shared with us
about the love of Jesus. She
affirmed that Jesus came to
this world as human being to
save the whole mankind (and
not a particular religion or
people group but all
irrespective of their caste,
creed, religion, sex,
language or place of birth)
from their sin. She
comforted us with the words
which we never heard
earlier. She even said that
if we believed in the true
God who came as Jesus
Christ, our daughter could
be healed.
I said that I followed
religious rituals of all
religions to save my child
but nothing happened now let
me try Christianity. But my
friend, let me tell you that
Christianity is not a
religion, it is a
relationship with our
creator God. I know now
that Jesus came to restore
this relationship which was
broken due to sin in our
lives. We all have sinned
and need God's grace and
therefore need to believe in
Jesus' sacrifice for the
forgiveness of our sins.
As we consented to pray to
Jesus for our daughter's
healing, that sister invited
Pastor to come and pray for
my child. They explained to
us how Jesus died for the
sins of the whole world and
if we invite him to come in
our life, he will save us
and give us eternal Life in
heaven. They prayed for our
daughter with tears (which I
could not understand then
how could they love my
daughter that they even
cried for her) to Jesus for
her healing and our
salvation. I was somehow
touched by this Christian
love and the faith by which
they prayed.
My Wife Anjali even though
was a catholic but she did
not share much about Jesus
with me earlier. After this
prayer, we were invited to
Word International Church in
Al-Ain and we started to
attend the
church fellowship. Slowly
our daughter Janvi's
condition started getting
better and it was a miracle.
Moreover, I started
experiencing change in my
own life as I learnt more
about the sacrificial love
of Jesus Christ for a sinner
like me. I was slowly
getting convinced that Jesus
(the Son of the living God)
died for my sins and rose
again third day. I knew that
He is alive and is in heaven
yet I was not able to
completely give up my habits
of drinking and smoking.
In year 2003, during a
prayer meeting, I heard the
testimony of pastor Narendra
Bhatia that how he was
living a life similar to me
and then how he gave up
everything in order to
surrender himself to Christ
and how then God blessed
him. From the Bible,
I had come to know that no
one can enter into the
kingdom of god unless he is
born again - that is
forgiven of all his sins
upon confession and
receiving Jesus Christ as
his personal God and savior.
I came out of this prayer
meeting and threw away
alcohol bottles I had in the
car. I surrendered myself to
Christ and invited Jesus to
become the lord of my life.
Dear friends. my Life was
transformed and by the grace
of God I gave up all
bad-habits, I was set free
from alcohol and smoking all
other habits along with the
forgiveness of my ALL sins.
I and my wife came to know
the Lord personally and I am
grateful to Jesus for having
chosen our family.
My daughter started
recovering and now Janvi is
completely healed in the
name of Jesus Christ, our
Lord. She is 8 years old
with no sign of sickness at
all. We have not only
received the healing but
also our saviour Jesus in
our lives. Now, my Wife
Anjali does serve God by
praying for people who are
suffering with sickness in
the same Hospital where my
daughter was admitted with
virtually terminal illness -
Tawam Hospital-AlAin.
Dear reader, I am truly
thankful to God as he
transformed me and saved our
whole family. Today, we
stand as a testimony for the
