Dear
friends, do not be surprised at the painful trial you are
suffering, as though something strange were happening to you.
[1 Peter 4:12]
Believers or non-believers, all face challenges in their lives.
What is the hope for a believing and a professing Christian to
go through these pains, challenges, sufferings and hopelessness?
Yes! We do have a hope! Jesus comforted his disciples by saying
that in this world, you will have trials and tribulations, but
be of good cheer, because I have overcome the world (John
16:33). Even if we go through the difficult situations of our
lives, our God is with us. We have put our faith in a true and
living God, who keeps his word when he says, I shall be with you
till the ends of the ages.
Even
when there was no reason for hope, Abraham kept hopingbelieving
that he would become the father of many nations
[Romans 4:18]
Are you facing a situation that seems hopeless?
Are you going through a rollercoaster ride? Does everything
around you seems to be collapsing? Do you see that future is
nothing but dark? Do you have a sickness which is considered
terminal? Have you lost your dear one? Are all the sources of
income closed? Are you struggling with that particular weakness
which you hate the most?
Is that promise that you got from God hasn't come to pass yet.
Perhaps it seems like it could have come to pass a few years
ago, but now there is no reason to hope any longer.
In the Bible, Abraham was in a particular situation, where he had a
promise from God that He would be the father of many nations,
but it was not practically possible.
The only problem was that both Abraham and His wife, Sarah, were
well beyond child-bearing age. Therefore, Abraham didn't see any reason to
hope. Practically, there was no way he could think of for Gods promise to
come to pass. But I love what this scripture says - even when there
was no reason for hope, Abraham kept on hoping. He chose to have
an attitude of faith and expectancy, and God was faithful to
Abraham and fulfilled His promise!
I encourage you today, when you are facing a situation that
looks hopeless, put your hope in God! He will never forsake You;
He is the one, true, faithful God! When you hope beyond reason,
you will see His promises fulfilled in every area of your life!
one, true, faithful God! When you hope beyond reason, you will
see His promises fulfilled in every area of your life!
Lets pray:
My heavenly Father, thank You for Your faithfulness in my life.
I know I failed many times to trust in you, but today, I
trust that Your promises are true. I choose to put my hope in
You no matter what my circumstances may look like. Thank you for
loving me and helping me. In Jesus
Name. Amen.
