City on the hill
During one of my recent travels to Uttaranchal, I
visited Hrishikesh for a prayer walk with Shishye Thompson. As
we were travelling on the meandering roads of this hilly region,
I saw many houses built on the hills, mostly painted in white
color but some in other colors too. The houses with other colors
were camouflaged with the mountains and trees in the background.
It was difficult to see them clearly, they just looked lost.

The Perfect Mistake
My Mother's father worked as a carpenter. On this
particular day, he was building some crates for the clothes his
church was sending to orphanages in China. On his way home, he
reached into his shirt pocket to find his glasses, but they were
gone. When he mentally replayed his earlier actions, he realized
what had happened; the glasses had slipped out of his pocket
unnoticed and fallen into one of the crates, which he had nailed

How to know that you are alive
In month of May in year 2006, I got a phone call
in the night at 10:00 PM to reach home back in India from
Sharjah as soon as possible. Doctors had advised to call all
children before they could declare that my father was dead.
Actually they wanted me to take the decision. Next evening,
while I was standing besides papa, I would him motionless,
non-responsive almost dead. I just prayed for him, told him
several things from the Bible, sung the gospel songs he liked
most and finally asked him to show me a sign if he could hear my
voice. He responded by moving one of his finger. I knew he was

Are you a wrestler, a boxer or a soldier
'The word 'fight' normally
brings a bad picture in our minds. It would not give a good
impression of the person who 'fights'. The scene that quickly
pops up in our mind immediately after hearing this term is of -
exchange of heated arguments, obscene language, physical assault
and some extra flavours of such kinds. But wait, is 'fighting'
always bad? Is it not the perspective and purpose for which the
fight is being fought, makes it good or bad?
